Clay tile restoration on a 1930s home

Original barrel tile, still sound, on underlayment that had given up decades ago. We lifted, re-felted and relaid the lot, replacing only what had actually broken.

Clay tile restoration on a 1930s home

The problem

Matching ninety-year-old tile. Anything new would have read as a patch from the street.

What we did

Every tile was lifted by hand and stacked by slope, the deck re-felted, and the originals relaid in their own positions. Breakages were made up from salvage rather than new stock.

The result

A roof good for another fifty years that looks untouched, and about a third of what a full tile replacement would have cost.

Placeholder case study. This job is illustrative — Roofave is not a real company and this work did not take place.
